Opening Ceremony of the Strategic Leadership Course on Sustainable Cities and Communities

The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, in collaboration with the Conference for African Studies (CFA) and the Federal Ministry of Education, kicked off a four day Strategic Leadership Course on Sustainable Cities and Communities, Mon October 6, 2025.

The course, the first of its kind, brings together 60 participants comprising of Principals and Vice Principals from Federal Unity Schools across Nigeria’s four zones.

The course was declared open by the Director General of NIPSS, Prof Ayo Omotayo while the Minister of Education, represented by the Director of Human Resources, Federal Ministry of Education, addressed the participants.

The programme focuses on integrating Sustainable Development Goals 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) into the National Education Curriculum, empowering school leaders to promote inclusivity, resilience, and sustainability in education.

This initiative reaffirms NIPSS’s commitment to building leadership for sustainable development and creating a better future for all.
