NIPSS FLAGS OFF 19th STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP, ETHICS AND POLICY-MAKING COURSE

The 19th edition of the Strategic Leadership, Ethics and Policy Making Course (SLEAMP) commenced on Monday, 4 May 2026, at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru.
The course was officially declared open by the Director-General of the Institute, Ayo Omotayo, who was represented by the Institute’s Librarian, Lily Oluebube Ezeala. The opening ceremony took place at the Institute’s Directorate of Research.
In her remarks, Professor Ezeala conveyed the Director-General’s commitment to building a corps of forward-looking leaders equipped with the knowledge and ethical grounding required to navigate Nigeria’s complex policy environment. She emphasized that the course reflects the Institute’s mandate to serve as a foremost centre for policy research and strategic leadership development.
The Strategic Leadership, Ethics and Policy Making Course is designed to strengthen participants’ capacity in strategic leadership, ethical governance, and effective public policy formulation and implementation. It provides a platform for senior executives and policymakers to interrogate contemporary governance challenges, exchange insights, and develop practical, evidence-based solutions for national development.
Participants drawn from various sectors are expected to engage in rigorous intellectual discourse, policy simulations, and collaborative learning sessions throughout the duration of the programme.
