
The Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Prof. Ayo Omotayo, has called for greater support for policies and actions that promote the advancement of women, as the world marks the 2026 International Women’s Day.
In a message to commemorate the day, Prof. Omotayo congratulated women across Nigeria and around the world, acknowledging their resilience, wisdom, and dedication in shaping families, institutions, and nations.
He noted that women continue to play indispensable roles in advancing peace, development, and social progress, stressing that their contributions remain vital to building inclusive and prosperous societies.
The NIPSS Director-General also commended the remarkable impact of women in leadership, scholarship, public service, and community development, describing their role as central to national growth and transformation.
Prof. Omotayo further reaffirmed the commitment of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies to promoting an enabling environment where women can realise their full potential and contribute meaningfully to national development.
International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 8 to recognise the achievements of women and to promote gender equality worldwide.
