The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, is set to consolidate its strategic contributions to national development following the renewal of the appointment of its Director-General, Professor Ayo Omotayo, by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
The renewal was announced yesterday, March 4, 2026, in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, confirming the approval of a final four-year term for Professor Omotayo as Director-General of the Institute.
The renewal provides further opportunity for the Institute to deepen its role as Nigeria’s foremost policy think tank, advancing strategic research, policy dialogue, and high-level capacity development for senior public and private sector leaders.
Since assuming office in 2022, Professor Omotayo has led several initiatives aimed at strengthening the Institute’s capacity for rigorous policy research and expanding its engagement with key stakeholders across government, academia, and the private sector. Under his leadership, NIPSS has continued to provide strategic insights to government through its programmes, including the Senior Executive Course and other capacity-building initiatives designed to support evidence-based policy formulation and strategic decision-making.
The renewal of his appointment is expected to further consolidate ongoing efforts to reposition the Institute to respond effectively to emerging national and global policy challenges.
The Management, staff, and participants of the Institute reaffirm their commitment to supporting the Director-General in advancing the mandate of NIPSS in service to the nation.
Signed
