
The Eighteenth Edition of the Basic Strategy, Leadership, Ethics and Policy Making Course, organised by the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in collaboration with LAPEC, commenced today, 23rd February, 2026.
The course was formally declared open by the Director-General of the Institute, Prof. Ayo Omotayo, who was represented at the ceremony by the Acting Director of Research, Prof. Musa Umar, mni.
In his remarks delivered on behalf of the Director-General, Prof. Musa Umar emphasised the critical role of strategic leadership, ethical standards, and sound policy-making in addressing Nigeria’s governance and development challenges. He urged participants to actively engage in the lectures, syndicate discussions, and practical sessions, noting that the programme is designed to strengthen their capacity for effective decision-making and impactful leadership.\
The programme underscores the Institute’s continued commitment to promoting leadership excellence and advancing evidence-based policy formulation across sectors.
