
96 members of freshly baked mni were today inducted into the Alumni Association of the National Institute following the successful graduation of the 2025 participants of the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 47 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos. As the atmosphere bobbles in kuru, Friday, 13 December 2025, marks the pinnacle of the rigorous, complex and an intensive ten-month study with research, policy dialogue, reflections and strategic engagement.
Being the apex think-tank, events at the National Institute has always been witnessed by eminent Nigerians from all works of life. This year, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, was ably represented by the Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima GCON, who served as the Guest of Honour in the graduation ceremony, the chief host, His Excellency, the executive Governor of Plateau State Barr Caleb Mutfwang; the Chairman, Board of Governors, Distinguished Senator Ken Nnamani GCON; the President of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) Amb Obi Okafor; and the Director-General of NIPSS Prof Ayo Omotayo, alongside other senior government officials, stakeholders, families, and well-wishers grazed the occasion.
Prior to the formal induction, the SEC 47 Legacy Project was commissioned by the vice president, the project is a four-flat unit block fully furnished apartments which symbolizes the participants’ collective contribution to the growth and sustainability of the Institute. In his welcome address, the Director-General of NIPSS commended the SEC 47 participants for their discipline, resilience, and intellectual commitment throughout the ten-month course, noting that the programme had further strengthened their strategic leadership and policy formulation capacities. The Governor of Plateau State and other dignitaries acknowledged the Institute’s pivotal role in grooming leaders for national development.
The AANI President and his executives formally inducted the graduands into the prestigious alumni body and charged them to uphold the values, traditions, and high standards of the Institute.This was equally followed with the presentation of certificates by the same Vice President who personally handed over thecertificates to the participants while exchanging handshakes with each them. He congratulated the graduands on the successful completion of the course and urged them to apply the knowledge, networks, and strategic insights acquired at NIPSS in promoting good governance, national cohesion, and sustainable national development.
The ceremony formally marked the conclusion of the SEC 47 programme with beacon of hope and aspiration for Nigeria. It was reaffirmed that the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies is Nigeria’s apex policy think tank and leadership development institution.
