The Library
THE OLUSEGUN OBASANJO LIBRARY
The National Institute Library, established in line with Section 4 of the Institute’s Act, has embarked on the progressive development of its collection and services to meet the needs of research, studies, and other academic programs. The collection comprises of books in various fields, original essays submitted by the Senior Executive Course (SEC) participants, study tour reports, reports presented at plenary sessions, and copies of lectures delivered by Guest Lecturers on various topics. It also has a collection of the Nigeria Labour Archives and various Nigeria National Development Plan documents. The Library maintains an index of editorial opinions and feature articles in Nigerian newspapers. The collection currently stands at above 45,000 volumes.
Though limited in scope and coverage, the collection is sufficiently robust and dynamic to meet a substantial proportion of the immediate needs of its varied users. This assertion does not in any way suggest self-sufficiency, as many of the collections continue to be updated.
The library, through inter-library networking, sources and delivers information to users, both on-demand and on an anticipatory basis. All these serve to augment the services provided.
The physical library is opened to members of staff and SEC participants, Monday to Friday, from 8am to 10pm and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. Members of the public may, however, on the directive of the Director-General, be permitted to use the Library for reference purposes only. The library remains closed on public holidays and other days as may be directed by the Institute Management.
The digital library of NIPSS is presently being developed. There is currently, on display below, an aggregation of accessible relevant databases subscribed to and systematically arranged. There are also required library software installed such as the Koha Library Management System, DSpace Institutional Repository, and a Journal Management System (Open Journal System) which are being populated and would be activated online once minimum data have been harvested into them and all functional requirements and training are achieved. The Institute also subscribed to a plagiarism software eaglescan developed by the Association of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (AVCNU).

Please note the URLs to access the Research4Life portals WILL CHANGE. Our existing portals with redirect to the new ones; however, the redirections are not guaranteed to work forever, so you will want to correct links and bookmarks/favourites as soon as possible.
Research4Life now has a unified portal which contains the collections for all five programmes: Hinari, AGORA, OARE, ARDI, GOALI. In addition, AGORA and ARDI have separate portals only for their own collections.
