The Director General, Prof Ayo Omotayo today, Thursday, September 28, paid a courtesy visit on the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Content Development and Management Board (NCDMB) at the NCDMB office in Abuja. The visit afforded the two executives the opportunity to explore different areas of cooperation and collaboration. The DG explained to the ES several efforts being made through the engagement of all stakeholders in all spheres of our National life towards harnessing the abundant human and material resources available in the country for a better society.  This led the National Institute to brainstorm with the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) on local content in the Manufacturing sector. According to him, the brainstorming identified some issues of concern to the sector such as; Local Content, Customs tariffs and multiple taxes. The DG expressed NIPSS willingness to partner with NCDMB on areas of research for local content in manufacturing. He also spoke on capacity building through a Virtual Content Academy for the oil and gas amid other sectors. The Executive Secretary in response said NCDMB will be pleased to partner with NIPSS on the issues the DG raised, since its establishment laws allow it to intervene in other general areas, aside the oil and gas sector. He expressed delight at supporting research that lead up to improved production and capacity building. The relationship is expected to be cemented further
